our weekend

Today is Monday and the beginning of spirit week at MJ's school. Today was wear your clothes inside out day. Cracks me up that without anyone ever saying anything MJ thinks the whole thing is a little ridiculous! I always kinda felt the same way. Can't really explain it. I just felt there was better ways to show school spirit. He did participate which kinda surprised me. He is not one to usually do things he is not for....

We had a pretty good weekend here. Saturday the guys headed over to the Smith house to help do some work on their in the process garage. I was supposed to go but they don't need my cold! Yuck! MJ called me when they left cause he couldn't wait to tell me about helping the gentleman who lives next door to the Smith's. I guess he is an older gentleman and a WW2 vet. MJ was so excited and couldn't wait to tell me all about helping him trim his grape vines.  It sounded like they were also swapping stories but when MJ starts talking that fast sometimes it is hard to keep up and he gets very annoyed when you interrupt or ask him to repeat! LOL I am so proud of him and so happy he not only helps people but that he enjoys it! He is talking about wanting to go back soon. He made sure he told us that he has permission to knock on the door if the gentleman is not out next time.

Sunday was a day to get stuff done around here! Mark and MJ finally got finished running all the pipes for the air compressor and getting the electric hooked up to it. So now we have not only lights but air as well! Woohoo! That means Momma is getting her car fixed soon! He also got a bunch of stuff out of what will be my scrapbook room and took it down to the storage shed. That too has me excited! We still have a ways to go but we are getting there! I spent all of Saturday cleaning and resting and for that matter Sunday too. You wouldn't know it by looking at my family room though! Unfortunately, emptying the scrapbook room means sorting and organizing again too!  Now I am trying to decide on paint color. I am not a very good painter but m going to try again I think. I had some great suggestions from FB friends on colors and am going to go soon and look at paint samples. 

Now I must be off to accomplish something else!
